What can I expect when I visit illum?

Church begins at 4:00pm on Saturday. However, many people come early to catch up with friends and meet some new folk.

Our service begins with a time of singing worship (typically 30 minutes), then a time of teaching from the Word of God (typically 45 minutes) and we might conclude with a worship song and offer prayer ministry for those in need.

We're really a normal group of people who love the Lord, are excited to be in community with one another and are willing to share in each other's burdens and triumphs in life. We love life and we're learning to serve in our local communities with the heart of Jesus.

If you're completely new to church and any of this is foreign to you, here's a bit more info to help you along.

Worship
When God's Word goes forth it always elicits a response. Worship is our appropriate response to His revealed greatness. Be free to express yourself to God openly by offering your body as an instrument of praise. Now if for you that simply means sitting quietly and listening to the songs, we believe that is a beautiful act of worship to the Lord. Some people may express themselves by standing, clapping, kneeling or stretching their hands toward heaven. Worship is an expression of what we are feeling in our hearts for the Lord, our desire is that you feel free to worship the Lord in our corporate worship time.

Communion
If you are a follower of Jesus, then we would invite you to partake in communion. This is a time to remember and appreciate all that Jesus accomplished for you on the cross.

Giving
Giving financially is a part of our worship to the Lord. There is not obligation or expectation for a visitor to give. Tithing (which is giving 10% of our income back to the Lord) is for our church members. However, if you would like to give during your visit you are more than welcome to.
